Modern Studies of Self
In this three-part workshop we will explore who we are and who we want to be. Through journal prompts, an online Facebook group, as well as live Zoom meetings, we will create a virtual community of loving support.
This is a "pay what feels good" course and I really hope that you'll join me!
Coming Winter 2019!
Who am I?
In this first session, we will explore our origin stories and begin the work of unpacking them, on both a personal and cultural level.
Where did you come from? What dreams were given to you and which did you create yourself? What is your story around money, family, race, religion, happiness, meaning, love?
archetypes & systems
In the second session, we will explore how we can use archetypal systems like Myers-Briggs, Enneagram, Tarot and Jungian archetypes to help us better understand ourselves and others. We will also look at the limitations to that kind of thinking and how we can learn to think outside of our paradigms.
We will create profiles using words & images to explore our intersectional identities, our hopes for growth, and deeply complex natures.
Passions into action
In the third session we will explore our passions and how to engage in the world in a meaningful and purposeful way. What are you naturally good at? What do you do, even if not paid to do it? But also, how do you like to spend your day? What kind of work feels good to you/rewarding in and of itself?
This can be a place to explore career options or changes, or to delve into our passions outside of work. We will brainstorm ideas together and get realistic and concrete lists of ideas and actions based on your strengths and limitations. We will think about which causes call your attention most and how to get involved in making the world a better place.
